Abstract
Web Accessibility is a concept that aims to make web content more accessible to all Internet users. However implementing such a concept is a rather difficult exercise that requires the developer to first understand the concept and then why it is needed. In this view, he or she will need to understand who the potential users of his or her website are and what the difficulties they may encounter while browsing it are.
Web Accessibility being a rather difficult concept to understand, the dissertation will firstly see to demystify a few myths that are often associated with the concept. Then the dissertation will present how websites are used by their end-users and that it is generally not what was expected of them when they were designed.
And finally the dissertation will describe a few techniques that are being used to improve a website's accessibility, as well as a few mistakes that are commonly made.
