V. Accessible Content

5.3. Non Textual Content

5.3.3. Video Content

Video content raise the same problem as audio content; however, there are more solutions available to make it more accessible. Indeed, instead of a simple transcript coming along the video, captions or live translation into sign language can be added to the video.

In the case of auto launch, the developer must adopt the same behaviour as with sound. Indeed, the user visiting the website may be listening to some music from his or her computer while browsing the Internet. Not giving him or her choice to play a video, which he or she may not be able to locate when loading the website, whenever he or she wants to is to influence his or her behaviour. Videos and sounds on a web page should never be able to start by themselves; it has to remain within the user’s choice to play them or not.
